Total agreement.

When they changed the regulations in 96, it was basically putting a gun to the heads of lenders while telling them if they want to survive they will lend money to unqualified candidates.

Even more astonishing to me was the Clinton administrations unwillingness to even CONSIDER regulation of the derivatives markets after testimony before Congress that it [the market] was in peril.

Clinton has admitted his failure, then quickly followed it with, "Oh, but Bush could have done more". Crap on that. It was a Clinton failure, it was his policy that did it, and to try to blame it on Bush is the same tactic criminals use when trying to distance themselves from the crime scene.
