Sadly, in 1992 I finally had just a few bucks to invest but we gave them to a Smith Barney broker because we were headed off to Croatia at a very difficult time there. It was only five years later after the broker had done nothing for us and the Internet made personal investing possible from anywhere (even Mauritius, our posting then), that I embarked on my current journey. I picked up EMC the other day partly on the basis that EMC/VMW would be an attractive takeover target. But I don't follow tech enough to have other ideas. Certainly love to hear some.
