I strongly agree, Jim! No trend of yesterday will accurately predict what happens tomorrow, at least not by using conventional means. What will work? Random walk? No. Efficient market theory? No. Brownian motion/ratchet? No. Markov chains? No. Parrondo's paradox? --- lol! Nope. Not one of those will work. The best predictive approach today, according to several published papers I have read, is an advanced, artificial neural network that scours the internet for a library of specific keywords, phrases, and trends and immediately executes trades based on the results.
