Baloney. You and koanhead and Shep are supposed to be the cognitive elite on SI? LOL

how can you believe there's a God that finds us special?

For one thing, our very existence (as living things and as conscious beings) is a miracle.

Tha picture of a spiral galaxy - if there's life on some arm of it, that's more significant than a billion dead and barren planets. Importance is not a matter of size or age.

Your religion arose in a time when men thought Earth was the center of the universe.

So did your ungodly philosophy for that matter (see Epicurus and Lucretius and unnamed hosts who came before them).

Bentway, > Your religion arose in a time when men thought Earth was the center of the universe.

For someone who doesn't believe in the Bible, you sure play the role of devil's advocate to the letter.

Tell me why, if you're such a "freethinker" ...

But enough about global warming...
