I'm convinced Westell and Amati have enough synergies that any buyer would want both, not just one. I'm quite certain Cisco, for example, would be more likely to look at the combined entity than either alone. Lucent, NEC, Siemens, TI, and Newbridge Networks might be different. They seem more apt to take Amati's R&D and do away with the company, itself. I could be way off. The only one in that list that doesn't have a partnership with Amati, either directly or indirectly, is Lucent, so I suppose it's the most likely candidate.

I certainly don't want anyone making an offer --- unless, of course, there's more than one and it starts a bidding war --- because at these levels, the price would be too low.

Just my take.
