I was not a Commie nor a Hippie and even then could see that the lazy guys on the railway wagons, which I loaded though it was their job just so I could get going for my next truckload without delay, were just lazy unionist Commie bludgers. Also that the Hippie communes would not last because a few workers would soon get sick of lazy bludgers sitting around smoking dope saying "far out man" and having sex with the workers' girlfriends would wear thin fast. Sure enough. One of my sisters was on a Hippie commune for a while way back then. Recently [over the last 10 years] I have visited and stayed on a couple of communes which still exist. Their form has changed to communally owned land which is not worked intensively - each having their own plot for plantings with privately owned houses while they work in the wider world to get money. The communism of normal society is already too communist and useless for my liking. As I matured and traveled and experienced and thought, I moved from agreeing with my parents about how socialism was pretty good to wondering whether democracies are actually dead-ends as more and more people vote to get money from the others who actually do the work. Will the trend to bludging Hippie socialist communes on a national scale [or even international] end as enough people realize what is happening? Ironically, I was [when aged 18] supporting NZ's vote at 18 campaign which was a little group [not a tea party size movement]. It offended me that the government could conscript me for some screwball war and I didn't even have a vote. Now, both ideas offend me - conscripting people to go and be killed for the profit of those left behind and 18 year olds voting to spend opm. 18 year olds voting is fine, provided they are voting their own money and not somebody eles's. Same for 50 year olds. Same for women. Women voting has seriously changed the way people live - which is not surprising when one considers how women run a house. Of course they don't want a bloke lighting his latest explosive device or launching his latest communications gizmo in the living room. That should be done somewhere sensible, such as on Mars. I was very surprised but pleased that the politicians accepted and adopted our arguments for 18 year old voting and it was then I relized how easy it is to effect political change and I have continued to do so [successfully]. But what I didn't realize at the time was that the politicians didn't necessarily agree with the arguments, those in charge just realized that young people will vote for them because they have not matured and will then vote for the opponents. Having established voting at 18, it was difficult for another party to then take away that vote [they wouldn't dare try]. I remain hopeful that enough people will see the trends of government megalomania Big Brotherdom and kleptocratic bludgerism and vote to change. It is by no means a slam dunk because few people with cushy numbers are likely to vote to get a real job below the minimum wage which is where their talents lie. NZ's ex member of parliament Georgina Beyer, who was a male prostitute, then transvestite turned with sex change operation to woman, then mayor of Carterton, then voted into the Labour government [selected by Labour who won the election so "she" got in], is now on the dole having chucked a sales assistant job which she said was beneath her. I would cancel the dole and certainly the minimum wage and leave people to find their own value. There's plenty of work available. The people who should do the jobs just dislike the pay rate. I wonder if all democracies will vote themselves into poverty. So far, it's true. Singapore was a rare exception though it takes a couple of generations to lose the habits of VVV [which include work ethic]. Japan voted to get richer for half a century but worked like crazy to overcome their ridiculous inefficiencies. They took over many VVV which were abandoned by the English. Mqurice
