Yes, Rarotonga [where I am right now] was unaffected. It seems to be not a big deal. It's a reminder than natural events far exceed anything people can do. For example regarding sea level rise - with prodigious effort in CO2 production, people might raise sea level half a metre over 100 years if the Doomster Alarmists are correct. But a tsunami from a Pacific Ocean bolide would remove Christchurch from the map. Even a decent tsunami from a landslide, earthquake or volcano could do some damage.

A Taupo type eruption at Matata in the Bay of Plenty for example, or offshore, would end life and cities up and down the east coast of New Zealand [build on sand spits such as Pauanui, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa, Ohope, Whakatane]. The other side of the ocean would be damaged too, and in a big way if it was a Taupo-sized eruption.
