The longer term proplem with stimulus in my mind is the overall negative effect on the economy further down the road.

What comes to mind here is the: 'Pay back is a bitch' mentality.
No one wants to willingly pay back what is owed on previous stimulus packages outside of drudged up accounting policies that few pay any real attention to. And why should they? Fiction is best left to fiction writers an those who would rather reside in fairly tale land. As well, our overall negative defecit spending budgets previously accounted have had a huge negative consequence on our abilty to finance the interest on that debt-not taking into consideration the problem of not paying back the principle.

How could this be sustainable when one merely has to look East and see a huge labor force willing to work on the cheap; abeit they do not reside in the U.S. We import far too much and export far to little. With this type of economic infrustructure all stimulus spending will end up costing the U.S. tax payer more further down the road and yet we continue along this road hoping this time it will be different, lol.

We need to know we can grow our way out of stimulus packages, but the growth has to be real.

Roads to Economic Recoveries are built on positive cash flow foundations. The U.S. refuses to look deeper in the quest of a sustainable road to economic recovery because the greed mechanism is in full mode. All the rest is noise, imo.
