Now the denialists are going around exaggerating claims by the AGW science community, that's clear. That's bald-face lying to a "T". The AGW crowd is saying EXACTLY that it is happening now. Every hurricane, flood, drought and even earthquakes are blamed on global warming. And those claims are happening right now. What was gore's claim? oceans would rise 20' in 100 years? What? do you think he meant that we would hit the 100 year mark and the oceans suddenly rise 20 feet? No, that means in 50 years the oceans will have risen 10 feet and in 25 years they will have risen 5 feet... Now that the AGW claims are being shown to be absurd the AGW crowd wants to back out of the predictions. If the AGW crowd really believed their bullshit, Malibu would be a wasteland with property values plummeting. By Gore's predictions the oceans will rise 2.5 feet in just 12 years. Hell, at the rates that the oceans are rising in Goreland most beachside homes should have absolutely no resale value. And as all of the AGW crowd loves to point out..."Hottest Decade ever!!" or "2010 is the hottest year to date on record!!!" So that tells us that the oceans should be rising at an accelerated rate. By Gore's calculation, in just 6 years the oceans will rise 15 inches. The exaggeration has come from the AGW crowd, not the people calling them on their bullshit. And Gore just bought an $8M home at the seaside community of Montecito. Do you really think he would have done that if he thought the oceans were going to rise 5 feet in his lifetime?
