From freer countries the surveys have a larger possibility of being accurate. Whether or not they are honest, or more to the point (since they probably mostly are at least somewhat honest, and often very honest, at least about the specific facts they report) whether or not they are accurate, would presumably vary depending on the study. I'm talking about Cuba, not the whole world. If you have some point or issue about other countries you should bring it up specifically.
