John, margin is perfect for marginable securities like stocks. Jacob (Snyder) explained how to use margin effectively. Being fully invested in Options (that are non-marginable) causes my portfolio to have longer Yoyo swings. I figured out I can put up less money and just use more cash at the bottom of each swing and still get the desired return. That is for short-term Options...For LEAPs, I can use cash to average my cost and to Roll-them-over to longer term but higher priced Options...All in all we have different approaches to different investment vehicles...
