talk about poor risk management. i expect to have a significant amount of volatility in my portfolio because of concentration and a few stocks and industries. but for fund to be down around 40% over 5 years is just terrible. what excuse could they possibly have? that is why i pretty much manage my own money unless the discount to nav is compelling. or im convinced they know what they are doing. I dont think most money managers should be making more than policemen and firemen myself. if i became incapacitated id rather pay buffet a $100,000 and let him allocate my capital for me. I doubt his book value would ever drop by 40% over a 5 year period.
