Ken, thanks for the Walmart tip. I often fail to check there. My neighbor gave me a CRT monitor, just like mine [emachine brand] and it works fine. The old one had reverted to pink.

The neighbor's CRT showed some slight pink in one corner, but a degauss fixed that. en.wikipedia.org

Interestingly, a screen shot of the pink screen shows white on a good monitor. That tells me it's a monitor problem because the screenshot comes from the video card, not from the monitor.

I like Acer and Samsung. Acer has some nice new 24" ones. Some modesl have USB ports which can be convenient.

I don't think Wallmart carries the top Acer models.
