We've had this "situation" before.

Sometimes Elroy allowed entries on "Monday" with no penalty. But this time the instructions were clear. You had to say you're in or in for $100 (not in for $200, BTW) or make your picks by the market close 9/3/2010. Otherwise, entries are late and Rule 6 applies.

The reason for the stricter rule this round is there is a temporary suspension of trading after Friday 9/3/2010 until Elroy's baby arrives and he reports that trading has resumed.

I think you will start not with $100 but with $1.00 less than last place after the on-time players' portfolios are calculated on the closes on the trading day before trading resumes.

Same for anyone else who joined at 4:00 PM Friday or later.

This pause could be 7-15 days, so making selections now, is for an unknown trading day. You can as always change an order before the next trading day closes. In this case, that is not Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

I'll put you in for $100 cash. Anyone who still wants in but hasn't said so can enter with $100 cash if they get their request in prior to Tuesday's open. But no trading this round until I say so.
