Americans, for a very long time, have not given any single party total control of Govt. as they did in 2008. When they did so in 2008, the expectation was very high and the Democrats failed to meet that expectation particularly with the stimulus money, which I think was spent more like "welfare money" instead of stimulus.

If the Republicans capture the House then we can look to 1994 and expect that the situation being the same now as then, we can expect to see the Clinton boom under Obama for the next 6 years.

Obama should let all the tax cuts expire if the Republicans are unwilling to go with the expiration of the tax cuts for the rich only. The economy has picked up but not as fast as expected. I am all for having the economy move ahead at the rate it is moving. It will continue to move at this rate even if tax cuts expire. And with those revenues, I would say that Obama needs to consider giving tax credits only to those who hire new employees for at least 18 months. BY doing so it will match similar schemes that foreign Govts. have in place to attract American capitalists to hire their people.
