A big 10 year Flat since 2000 is a clean count and may prove to be true. I think the hardship with such big picture counts is that it may be expensive to find out if something different is playing. Maybe a range, like the one from mid-60's until early 80's. Or maybe something more bearish, like for instance an ABC-X-ABC, with the last C down still pending.

As presented by "sentimentrader", the sentiment picture is sort of mixed, in all time frames. More anecdotally, bears talk about a double dip -- very few people think in terms of big new lows, etc. It's all about green shoots and such. The President and Ben keep announcing victory and the end of hard times.

However, it is also true that not very many talk about great new breakouts and about Dow K100.

One good sentiment indicator is the way people react to fundamentals and other "facts". I think it is worrisome that so many still accept the notion that "borrowing" and spending several trillions of dollars will solve a problem created by excessive borrowing and spending.
