Yes, and that the nature of the oligarchy is changing, no longer a more or less meritocracy but now a hated class of like-minded incompetents full of themselves who themselves despise those who are not in their inner circle. Mr. and Mrs. Obama are prototypical. This change accounts for America's missteps of the last few decades for this oligarchy is not only incompetent, it is out of touch with the populace. If you want to see some wannabes, glance at SI's "Views from the Center" from which I am banned. In other words, the country is ready for a populist rebellion. As a student and cynical observer of all things political, I find this interesting, amusing and scary all at once.
