Strategic defaults are good business decisions. It was long overdue for the mortgage bubble to melt - but I expect that after 4 years most of the deflation is out of the way by now. I'd love to see housing prices get another 30% cheaper. We wouldn't need a mortgage system by then, people could just pay for everything in cash. Just doesn't seem like we'll get that lucky.
