Lay the Voodoo to rest.... Standard mortality tables (1980, sorry) show that for a 79 year old man the chances of dying witin one year are 91/1000. By simple probabilities this means that if you take 4,000 men of this age and shake a rattle over their heads every day for a year, roughly one a day will die. This is the stuff of Voodoo and witchcraft, that is, perfect fodder for the tabloids and those unfamiliar with the proper use of statistics in medicine. Of course we will see that men treated with MUSE have a much better than average mortality rate. Again, not a beneficial effect of the drug but because of populaton self-selection (the ones about to die don't need MUSE). In fact I could see Medicare HMO's finding out which seniors are using MUSE and trying to sign them up for their low medical cost ratios, I have heard of similar strategies proposed at high levels. If we are interested in what will happen to this stock, I suggest we look for a much younger man, named Vinik. Hong Kong is down just a bit and S&P futures are +6.50. Not that this stock has any correlation with the regular markets. I could use one more dip to pick up another 500 shares. Tuna, do you think we'll see the teens or was Leo right to cover? Zebra P.S.
