short it by using 3 mos out options{puts} then take the long day trade position and play the game-
a great hedge and a time frame is involved- ties up less capital and allows you more freedom with your money-

Joseph, I sometimes take a position in a stock either long or short and trade around it. The benefit of this is that you get a feel for the ranges that the stocktrades in and you also get a feel for how the market makers trade the stock. If you open a hedge account you can short the stock without waiting for the uptick. When I was talking about bidding in between the spreads I was referring to bidding on INCA, ISLAND, or any other ecn. I do agree with your concept.
