You seem to imply the system is corrupt systemically. Auditors are shady or able to be bribed, companies lie, companies bribe government officials. If this is so there's no reason that an outsider can rely on any numbers from any of these small (or larger) companies. Assuming this is correct, I'll extricate myself from the Chinese microcaps in which I'm showing stock losses, and redeploy funds. We know the country's still growing, so some companies are growing their businesses and making profits. Maybe the small shareholder will never see the fruits of it, but I'll continue to take a chance for now with a few Chinese microcaps --although with even less of a portion of my portfolio. ========================= For someone who seems to have a strong opinion about how corrupt China can be, what is it that gives you the confidence to increase your position in GFRE now?

Bakshish (or Xinghui, the Chinese version of it) needs to be given under the table. SEC filings for everybody who can read English and use the internet are not good. I think the Chinese tax authorities not as naive as US investors dabbling with this stuff. Anyways, none of us really has a clue. To get a clue, we would need to get access to the Chinese records (tax or otherwise). I suspect some resourceful folks are able to do that. The rest of us are just the suckers on the poker table with the cards on their forehead. That is why I am staying away from that game for now.
