It all comes out in the cost/benefit ratios (and is optimized in the planning for an appropriate mix of technologies... appropriate for the particular locale and it's prevailing geophysical conditions, economic conditions, fuel supply projections, etc., etc.)

No knee-jerk or partisan reactions that 'one technology is bad' or 'another technology is good' need ever apply.

It's all simply engineering and finance and economics.
