Jurgis,

Thanks for your research on this. All my investments are in a 401k or IRA and therefore, I think my GRVY shares won't give me too much of a headache. When I retire, I will get taxed at ordinary rates as I pull money out of these accounts.

That being said, I've got to think this PFIC issue is going to be an issue for value investors. It seems that foreign companies with a lot of cash as a percentage of assets could be potentially classified as PFIC as that seems to be one of the criteria.
