The message of this Imam has consistently been one of friendship and community, and to bring a strong American anti-radical message to the world. He says, in a nation of Jews, Christians, and Muslims we have fundamental beliefs of love of God and neighbors, getting to know one another and forging personal bonds.

The threat to America is that there will be a reaction from radicals who will view intolerance of Muslims in an American neighborhood as a justification for their anti-American agendas. I suppose you could pile 'Quran burning Day' onto that. This is the result of politicising religion which is un-American to begin with, it is dangerous, and he's not making the threat, he's clarifying it, and he's right. When we don't stand on our fundamental principles we open the door to our enemies, in this case radical Muslims, who will likely use it as an excuse to act out against American interests and people world wide.
