When I was a kid my dentist would give me a dime that he rubbed mercury by hand onto, and they were the shiniest dimes I ever had. Over course, I put them in my bank, but when I took them out they were the ugliest green dimes I ever had.

I hope my dentist didn't get mercury poisoning from rubbing that on his fingers.

I know where there is a cinnabar mine (the source for mercury) that the government spent big bucks to put to bed. It would have been cheaper to just let it lie, and probably more effective than stirring things all up again.
