I think he made an excellent case. He said everybody embraced the idea in December. Then it fell a prey to politics and now we are where we are today.

I didn't see that part but I knew that to be true from before.

He would not have made his decision to build there if he knew it was that hurtful. And now, to move it would have dire implications is what he said. And finally, he left the door open for suggestions on what should be done besides what the plan already suggests: which is a prayer place for Christians, Muslims and Jews.

He also said the world is watching and it poses a threat if we don't do this right. Some are interpreting that to mean if we don't do what the Muslims want, then all hell will break lose.

I have said from the beginning I believe this is a local issue. As much as we like to say otherwise, no American can know the abject terror New Yorkers felt and experienced that day. That's why I believe its their decision to make.

The Cordoba concept of worship place is what I see about 2 miles from where I live. At this place we have a mosque, a church and a temple Beth Tora with a huge parking lot in the middle.

Cordoba, Spain flowered at a time when the rest of Europe was in its Dark Ages. Its an incredible symbol for 21st century religious enlightenment. Personally, I don't object to the CC being near GZ but then I wasn't in NYC on 9/11/2001.
