Absolutely! The left has a habit of defiling the traditional definition of words. They assign their own meaning to words wishing and hoping their contemporary definition is adopted by the majority of people. For instance the word "progressive." Its meaning has traditionally implied a positive outcome. The word itself connotes growth, betterment and doing good. It derives its root from the word "progress." By adding "ive" to the end of the word progress, they are humanizing their movement and would like us all to believe they are advocating positive advancement. Who can argue that we don't want to progress? By masking their true agenda with the manipulation or invention of words, they deny people the right to judge. They've tried to sell the idea that they are are making things better for us by calling their movement the "progressive movement", but I can see that is a ruse. Because they rely upon historical mechanisms to obtain and retain power, one can logically argue their methods do not fulfill the promise of progress, but are instead rather dull and boring. Fortunately, people can see with their own eyes that things aren't better.........they are worse. Mankind isn't advancing, they are regressing and progress is being denied. In this I can say that they have failed unequivocally. If I can see that, anyone can. ;)
