Problem is the things I posted ARE from Islamic sources - ancient and supposedly holy ones! Not a modern website putting a positive spin on things.

I guess it is good that modern Muslims want to explain things in a positive way. I suppose its better than defending what Islamic sources say Mohammed did.

most of Mohammad’s marriages may be explained at least, as much by his pity for the forlorn condition of the persons concerned as by other motives. They were almost all of them with widow who were not remarkable either for their beauty or their wealth, but quite the reverse. ”

Its Ishaq and Tabari and Bukhari, the ancient Islamic biographers of Mohammed, who say different. Note that Saffiya is described as very beautiful and yes, she is in a pitiful condition when Mohammed married her .... but thats because Mohammed had killed " her father, her husband, and her people" according to Ibn Ishaq.

looks like the iman lie to the pastor. Who didn't know that would happen.

‘He Gave Me His Word’

Terry Jones, speaking to reporters again later in the afternoon, was adamant that he was promised that the Islamic center would be moved, and said he would be "very, very disappointed" if that didn't happen. Sharif El Gamal, the New York developer behind the Park 51 project in lower Manhattan, told the NewsHour late Thursday: "We are not moving." Asked about a meeting with Imam Feisal and the Florida pastor, he said: "I talk to the these people every day. It's my building. I own it. I know nothing of a meeting."
