The difference is that Fossil Fuels provide BASELOAD POWER.

They fuel generation capacity that operations 24x7x365.

Neither wind, nor solar are capable of this.

Now.. if the government wants to subsidize geothermal power, I'm all for it.

But geothermal is only good for certain regions. Nuclear is the only viable alternative.

Last time I checked fossil fuels had received much, much more.

Since you checked recently perhaps you can tell us what are those huge government subsidies for fossil fuels. And also, which governments subsidize them?
