Those responses are not part of the analysis of the success of the stimulus. The analysis was just programing in pre-determined formulas.

Also as you point out they are unverifiable.

He did. But that is a bogus, yet very typical Austrian School argument. They tend to reject arguments based on models in favor or arguments based on what makes sense to them.

Frankly, I prefer models, however flawed. At least there is a chance to refine a model.
