>Techinvest VRC (a little irony - "techinvest" picks an oil company"<

Hey, I don't care if they're tech stocks, I just like the ones that go up.

*** 1 STOCK 1 PICK *** My pick is PETD Long Op. 11/10

I pick PETD (7-1/8) because:

1. PETD is a long time (since 1995 summer) favorite of mine.
2. Great growth company with repeated earnings records.
3. Came up with great earnings announcement passed Friday morning.
4. Friday was up 9% while everything was down -> Good momentum.
5. Recently battered down from hi of around $11
6. Daily Bollingers coupled with MACD shows short term uptrend

There is strong resistance at 8.25. If broken huge gain's possible.
Acting on news! Long term trend is negative, MACD negative (bearish).
However on good news Friday went up 9+% on great volume. I'll take my chance on this one based on positive short-term chart, personal knowledge of history, and momentum on positive news.

Good luck all at this first week of "One Stock One Week" contest.

*** 1 STOCK 1 WEEK *** KLAC Long Op. 11/10

If technology issues go higher this week, semi-equipment makers should continue their strong rebound. It looked to me as though KLAC (and some other semi-equips) reversed out of their downtrend last week. The losses on Thursday and Friday seem to be a technical retracement to the trendline, which held nicely toward the end of the day Friday. Friday's decline also seems to have filled the gap up from last Monday.

The sector should continue to benefit from INTC's announcement Friday that it's capital expendiiture program should continue as previously planned (offsetting LSI's announcement that it will be cutting cap. ex.). The sector is also a momentum play based on last week's action.

I also like AT's pick KLIC, which may be an even stronger momentum play based on last week's movements.
