Verizon and Sprint did a miserable job with wireless web from 2000 to 2006. Along comes the iPhone with a built in iPod and things began to change. Apple carried the GSM carriers for the past couple years by actually getting people excited about wireless data. That's something that VZ and S could never accomplish on their own. Now, they have Android to thank, but I think the real success of 3G boils down to Apple. Hoping for many stock splits down the road and a nice dividend to make it produce nice cash flow over the next decade.
