OFF SUBJECT-"Will the End Of Capitalism be televised on CNBC and/or CNN?"

Hi Paul, the answer to this question may be in doubt, but the answer to the more important one is "CNN".

Back when CNN was just going on the air for the first time on a Sunday evening, the previous Friday's WSJ carried a front page interview with Ted Turner about the outlook for CNN longterm. The popular wisdom was that an all news channel could survive at most for 6 months.

The interviewer asked Turner really just how long he expected the channel to last. Turner gave what I think is an all-time great answer:

He said " I expect CNN to be on the air till the end of the earth, we'll cover that live, then we'll play "Nearer My God to Thee", and then we'll sign off."
