prescription drug 'abuse' vastly exceeds levels of 'illegal' drug abuse

I didn't know that.
By how much?
Do you have a link to a study or any stats on it?

He answered your question and proved conclusively his point. Now pose another question for discussion on that topic. You lost the first round. Don't go back and fuzzy everything up to cover up the fact you LOST the argument.....AGAIN!

Buddy wrote: "So what? You said 'drug abuse' not 'arrests'."

Do you have a reading comprehension problem, Buddy? I said illicit drug abuse. Are you suggesting that illicit drug abuse does not correlate to arrests?

The facts, as I showed, reveal that Blacks are arrested at 3.18 times the rate of Whites for the offense of "drug abuse violations", which validates my initial assertion.

Post your supporting data.

Buddy wrote: "Socio-economic status ('wealth') plays a MUCH BIGGER role than race ever does in the over-all numbers though."

You do not want to go there, Buddy. Blacks who earn X still commit a very disproportionate amount of crime as compared to Whites who earn the same amount. Controlling for equality of wealth does not erase the stark racial disparities in crime rates, sexual diseases rates, illegitimate birth rates, test scores, and a wide array of other anti-social metrics.
