If you look at the last ten years in the indexes, the battle was a draw. For active managers, however, it was actually a great time to make lots of money on the long side. Over the last 30 years, it's no contest at all, the bears are toast from the last time equities were declared "dead". The next 9-12 months won't be pivotal or a final verdict for anyone except maybe a few dumb, overleveraged traders. Mish will keep writing his blog as many years as it takes for the market cycle to turn in his favor again briefly, and SFG and myself and others will keep doing what we have done for years, which is to manage capital through the currents and grow it over time. Mish just can't stomach the fact that we do what we do and prosper. So be it, that's his problem not mine.
