They won, Elizabeth Warren reports to Timmy

President Barack Obama this week will name Harvard Law Professor Elizabeth Warren as a special adviser to help launch the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The development means that the White House has decided not to nominate Ms. Warren as the first director of the agency, a move that Mr. Obama to avoid a likely grueling confirmation battle in the Senate.

In this special position, Ms. Warren will report both to the president and to the Treasury Department, which has the authority to set up the agency before the director is named.

I am not sure that is true with the folks that make up the party -- that is the BS Palin is for, but she is irrelevant. Again, I don't think you can't paint with a broad brush -- is there a Tea Party Platform, Les??

The Tea Party is in favor of big spending on defense and foreign wars.

the tea party movement has been against every form of big spending from the beginning. most understand that we need a military but it can be much less expensive than it is now and still do the job.

-----------

They didn't come out anti-stimulus until Obama started diverting TARP to housing, automakers, states, etc.

they were always anti-stimulus and anti-bailout. the first paulson bailout of his buddies under bush marked the beginning of the movement. it later became galvanized with santelli's "are you listening mr. obama?" rant on cnbc.
