If my Son and Daughter-in-law are examples, then I would beg to differ with your statement. They are very much the Facebook generation; and their iphones and ipad have eliminated the PC from the household (sold on ebay). They retained their Imac as a "server device" for the mobile devices.

I actually like the touch typing on screen. What I don't like is the 3 layers of virtual keyboards used to give access to all the keys of a regular keyboard. Apple could have easily shrunk the keyboard slightly to add a few missing keys and then set all the non-letter keys to shifted and nonshifted special characters. By shrinking the keyboard slightly they could also have added number keys with their shifted special characters.

Here's an image of how the portrait and landscape keyboards would look. Note that all keys from the original 3 keyboards are available in one keyboard - just like a regular keyboard.

If you think you are looking at today's iPad as the final version of what it is or may become, you're not exercising your vision of the future.

RW, > Yeah I have a few minor issues with my iPad.

You mean like touch-typing? Give me a regular keyboard for that.

No Ten that's not a problem. Highlight/copy/paste is imprecise and a hassle... much worse than with a mouse. MS Excel is so far missing in action... there are some cloud apps you can use but I like to keep thing simple.

No way the Facebook generation will be dumping PCs and Macs in favor of iPads.

You're kidding me right?
