Dc Fleckenstein field strengh is a tricky subject and how a magnet is rated is also very tricky. The Cone "" is a .5T magnet but field strength in any quadrant depends on lines of force or flux lines and they can be more concentrated (more wire) in the area of interest i.e. 17cm volumes. They have a patent on a magnet and I think it deals with this issue. It would not be a uniform cone field... But I can be wrong about that too. Its probably hotter at the chest...
I have fat suppressed images and they look very fine to me. They have had over a year to improve the machine for production and I know they have improved the software algorithms.. so again what we need is fresh
reports from Faulkner Center on this issue...
Don't forget the 17 Tesla magnet with the frog suspended by its own electrons I think it is the size of a paint can.
The software technique which I will visit this week does a fake and shoot sequence that essentially forces the fat out of (orbit) the way then shoots through.. but more on that later..
later..dude.

Dc Flekenstein I have an email in to dc Norman.. also a call to radiology.. you try and see how the new system is doing? Got the patent for fat suppression and I will review it tonight..

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! SCORE 1 FOR dc Fleckenstein... Got hold of the Breast MRi suite at Faulkner and had a chance to speak with a technologist from Advanced Mammography doing field work who confirmed right now they are subtracting pre-contrast image from post-contrast image and what is left is the contrast.
They are not currently doing fat suppression but it is expected they will have it at some point. They sounded very excited about the machine and the way it is performing otherwise. Also they feel like they are finally in the comercial ball game..
Also They said what is most needed for good fat suppression is homogeneity not field strengh. Again finesse not bruta forza....

Dc Fleckenstein when you are right you are right.. fat suppression is offline at this time.. Boy it sounds like they need a good engineer over there to clean up their act and wip them into shape..Wish I could
let our Rf tigers loose there for one week...
