there certainly was a time when reclaiming the lands was not done. That certainly ain't recent times. But 85% OMG! WV must be a wasteland. No more trees, no more wildlife. It must be perfect for solar power now!!!

except for the one little detail....West Virginia is still a very heavily forested state with little pockets of land that have been mined and when reclaimed, the vegetation has and will grow back.

and since all mountaintop mining is forbidden now, it's all kind of moot.
