If enough Republicans got on board, Obama could pass an effective guest worker program without much trouble. Then the vast majority of folks burdening the system now would be processed and given traceable ID cards; the remaining minority of true miscreants would enjoy the full attention of immigration enforcement authorities. Whether that is 90% of the problem or 80%, it's a huge amount more than the minority we catch and throw back now. Simple math in my mind. The clock won't be turned back, and no new party is going to run Washington for decades if ever. So.....
