There is no doubt that some things were done bordering on fraud, maybe enough to convict some token miscreants. But the effort and expense to act retroactively is nothing compared to what we can accomplish by writing effective rules to implement the new FinReg law. Some folks are so worked up about the past that they don't see where the real stakes are now going forward. My concern is that the lobbyists gut most of it once they can get back in bed with Republican-run House committees next year.
