Kirk: As old SI’ers we should know better than to engage into these sort of never ending arguments. They are almost always inconclusive and only serve as an irritant to the majority of forum participants. On this note, I’ll back off with an apology to the forum.

I'm late to this, but want to get in my two-cents and then move on: Kirk said: "Why not shoot third offenders...." How many times does a woman have to have sex to get pregnant? Like with pregnancy, it only takes ONE time of driving drunk to kill someone. I say, shoot the first-time offender. I'd guess only one or two would have to be shot before drunk driving would come to a screeching halt. Think I'm kidding? I'm not. When you read of the sickening damage drunk driving does to people and families, you want it to end -- at any means possible. It's not difficult: I made a rule for myself never to take even one sip of alcohol if I knew I would be driving, it's never failed to work perfectly. .
