BEFORE THE BELL - MCI jumps on merger

NEW YORK, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Shares in MCI Communications
Corp jumped in pre-opening trade Monday after it and WorldCom
Inc said they agreed to a $37 billion merger.
The telecommunications company's shares were trading at 42,
up from a Friday closing price of 36-14/16. The shares were
gyrating in rapid trades, with the stock also changing hands at
42-7/8 and at 41-3/4.
"It's bouncing around a lot this morning," a dealer said.
WorldCom was trading at 31-5/8 from a close of 33-2/16.
