2. In today's morning call, Wayne Angell of BS reiterated his opinion that last week's employment data would normally trigger a tightening tomorrow, but due to the Asian upheaval he doubted very strongly that any change will come from the FOMC.
My question (sorry if you have covered this, but 7500 responses are too many to check) - Is the Fed protecting the economy from the real posssibility of a deflationary slowdown or the financial markets? And is there anything inherently wrong with the latter?
