I suspect Rove is just being honest in his assessment. No hidden motivation to damage the GOP or help the Dems. But that doesn't mean he's not flat-out wrong of course .. Rove has done much to help the conservative cause over the years. But fundamentally he's a creature of the establishment elite. Whether GOP or Dem, that elite still hasn't grasped the nature of the Tea movement. So even if they're very smart (which Rove certainly is) their world-view just doesn't allow them to clearly see the nature and strength of this revolt. They're behind the curve.
