Certainly this is no surprise to anyone on this board. But thanks for posting it because it underlines the challenges facing the offshore oilpatch.

And I mention this in particular because my old employer has talked me into coming out of retirement to do consulting work for them -- I'm back in the offshore oil patch yet again (3rd time around for me) for better or worse -- I'd left them because they moved from SoCal to Houston and I was unwilling to relocate and was able (and really really ready) to retire, though I ended up doing some contract work for yet another former employer and for a startup my brother is doing, so I've really only been semi-retired and somewhat bored actually.

So back in the patch I go, consulting for a company who's primary clients are in the GOM, offshore Brazil, offshore W. Africa, Malaysia, etc. and includes PBR as one of their major clients such that they (we now?) just opened an office in Rio a mile from PBR's main HQ.
