I read the crank article! I'm not talking about more STIMULUS, I'm talking about keeping 50 million PERMANENTLY unemployed Americans and their families under roofs and being fed.

The Mieses proposals just let them go homeless and starve.

I agree with bentway 100%. Here is the simple problem with pure capitalism. It is sociopathic by its very nature. I.e. no conscien ce. Therefore a democratic society must provide the conscience.

E.g. not allowing corporations to discharge mercury into lakes and rivers, food inspection, building regs, etc.

Raygun applied laffers supplyside economic nonsense and it failed. Few top economics professsors aroung the world tteach supplyside economics anymore. It has been pretty well discredited.

Common sense should tell a person tax revenue must match social expenditures over the long run; but in times of starvation society must help its citizens.

Hoover would not help the starving populace and so the people voted in FDR.

I'm familiar with Mises and their view that all our problems stem from not being economically Libertarian enough. It's hogwash.

What brought us to where we are today was born with the fantasy economics and regulatory policies of Ronald Reagan, and taken to it's sad conclusion by George W. Bush.

Now, we're paying the piper..
