political openness? what does that really mean? that you know how in a nation of 300 mil that someone can be elected by 12 folks? a giggle; either that or you are naive. your choice. the people of darfur are doing the same as they always did per the limits of their institutions, and fighting ad infinitum the people of iraq, otoh, are dying in numbers they are not accustomed to, because whatever was the institution situated before was destroyed, just like in cambodia not long ago pol pot was a direct result of usa bombing of a peaceful cambodia out of the literal blue what? you think pol pot would have arose should team usa not made up some sorry fiction and attacked vietnam? reflect and see the sordid truth. the situation in cambodia improved dramatically once the people threw out the invaders, and threw out that which spawned by the enabling work of the invaders the interim hubbub is hardly avoidable per history, because it takes time. china most definitely did not tee-up africa, for that was done quite sometime earlier per the same impetus of war-like cultures from up north your understanding of history seem selective and discontinuous when you do not understand the fundamental nature of the problem, you shall not be blessed with true solutions
