ok -- but here's the rub -- he bent down to look at something and exposed his gun -- it was a mistake -- does it mean he should be a target because of that??

I am not saying the clerk was wrong to ask him to leave or that he shouldn't have left when he was told to ...

and I agree -- the license is for a concealed weapon.

I think it takes a certain profile to want to go into law enforcement. Some are as you say. Some are not.

As a building engineer in a high rise hotel, I worked with a bunch of off-duty cops who had a security company on the side. Some of them were fine people. But ONE of them..

This one cop was in narcotics and worked Austin's East side. He dressed and acted like Don Johnson! An asshole. Wore twin nickle plated .45's in a crossdraw setup. One of the housekeepers told me he'd shot down an unarmed guy in cold blood and planted a gun on him to make it look like a legit shoot, then stole all his drugs and money.

Once I was walking down a hall with the guy, just me and him, and I asked him about it - the housekeeper no longer worked there. He asked me who told me that and I refused to say. Then, he said, "Yeah, I killed that guy. He's not the first, and won't be the last."

Into my silence he said, "If you tell anyone, I'll kill YOU!", and winked at me.
