Seems to me the die has been firmly cast. My great regret is the death of rational debate and discourse followed by constructive compromise. The TP'ers are a manifestation of that even if their motives are "pure" in a Leave It To Beaver kind of naive way. Slogans and myths displace letting people understand the real fiscal, economic, social and foreign policy issues. And clowns like Palin and Beck are up there smilin' and cashin' in as fast as they can. The political nuts like Gingrich are trying to ride that wave too, adding more repetition to the most dumbed down political "debate" I have ever heard in this country. That die seems firmly cast to me, as I said before.
